The Lakes Region of NH is getting ready for the event of the season—two fun nights of fabulous food, wine, and music on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee that will showcase wines from around the world, along with fabulous food from local restaurants—all while raising funds for a local charitable cause. The 11th Annual Charitable Winnipesaukee Wine Festival’s grand tasting event will take place on Thursday, June 23rd in the Winnipesaukee Ballroom at Church Landing in Meredith. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm with auctions for getaways, appetizers from local restaurants, and samples of more than 100 wines, craft beers, and spirits from local, national, and international producers. Hosted by The Common Man Family of Restaurants and The Martignetti Companies of New Hampshire, and sponsored by Meredith Village Savings Bank, this year’s festival will benefit Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care’s new radiation therapy equipment and technology.

Hermit-Woods-Barrel-Tasting-glass-web-300x270Get ready for a weekend of celebrating great local wine! In the tradition of many California vineyards, six wineries in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire have joined forces and are planning to open house for two days of touring and tasting for the fourth annual Barrel Tasting Weekend. This year’s Barrel Tasting Weekend will take place on October 4th and 5th, from 11 am to 5 pm. The six participating wineries are: Coffin Cellars, Gilmanton Winery, Sap House Meadery, Haunting Whisper Vineyards, Newfound Lake Vineyards, and Hermit Woods Winery. New this year is the “ticket” to the event: a Lakes Region Barrel Tasting Commemorative Wine Glass that will serve as both a pass and tasting glass at each winery. Glasses will be available at all participating wineries and will cost $12.00 each.
