Gunstock Mountain Resort is well known for its excellent winter skiing and snowboarding, and for many years has also been a destination for hiking and scenic lift rides in the summer. However, in recent years, Gunstock has dramatically expanded its summer offerings to include camping, off-road guided Segway tours, and one of the longest Zipline courses in the country. Now Gunstock is better than ever with the addition of an Aerial Treetop Adventure Park, and this year’s newest thrill—the Mountain Coaster! Don’t let summer pass by without a trip to this NH fun spot that has something for everyone!

With the warmer temperatures, longer days, and stunning views, spring may be the most popular time to hike in New England, especially near this NH vacation spot. However, the region has such a varied landscape and so many outdoor getaways, a lot of folks enjoy hiking in New Hampshire year round. The state has thousands of miles of scenic trails, including 1,200 miles in the White Mountain National Forest, as well as a section of the Appalachian Trail and 48 4,000-footers. Although some smaller mountains’ vistas remain hidden after the trees leaf out, here are a few Lakes Region hikes that, with moderate effort, provide a dramatic outlook at any time of year.
