31 Oct Second Annual ‘Farm Fun Run’ Coming to Meredith
Runners of all ages and experience levels will be coming together next weekend to participate in a unique event that keeps the sport fun and accessible to everyone, from the novice to the seasoned athlete. Looking to get out and run with friends and family on a picturesque course on a brisk fall day? Moulton Farm in Meredith has just the thing for you!
On Saturday, November 8th, Moulton Farm will be hosting its second annual Farm Fun Run. This free event takes runners on a unique 5K course that winds around the farm, across fields, on hiking trails along Page Pond, and through part of the farm’s famous corn maze. A special shorter course for children will also be offered.
Rob Stephens, manager at Moulton Farm, said the first annual Fun Run last year went well. There were about 45 – 50 participants representing a wide range of runners, including people doing their first five-kilometer run, school teams, and parents and children running together. “We are expecting a much bigger turnout this year,” says Rob. “We’ve done a lot of outreach to local cross-country running clubs and schools.”
This is a fun event, but individual running times will be provided for people who wish to see how they did. And instead of traditional medals, Moulton Farm will once again give away the “Moulton Cob Awards” – gold, silver and bronze corncobs!
While pre-registration is not required for the Fun Run, there are a few folks signed up already, and most are expected to register the day of the event. There is no charge to participate, and registration opens at 8:30am. The run starts at 10:00am. Moulton Farm will be selling special T-shirts for the event, with proceeds to benefit a local Lacrosse club. Even if you don’t run, this event promises to be a lot of fun! Come and cheer on the runners as they make their way about the farm and head for the finish line!
