Meredith, NH – Perfect for a “Girls’ Getaway”!

The Lakes Region is well known as a destination for family vacations, storybook weddings, and fishing expeditions of all types. However, less known is that this little pocket of New Hampshire is also ideal for a womens’ trip—a few days away with your besties can do wonders for the soul, any time of year! Here are just a few ideas for fun things to do on your next “girls’ getaway” at the Lake…

Stroll the Meredith Sculpture Walk – After checking in, a walk around the village will orient you to all the fun places to visit during your stay, and the best path to take includes the Meredith Sculpture Walk, a year-round, outdoor exhibition featuring works by artists from all over New England. Sculptures are positioned in the lakeside Hesky and Scenic Parks, along Main Street, and throughout the Mill Falls Marketplace. Maps are available at various points on the walk, or you can join in on a docent tour.

Browse Mill Falls Marketplace – Do you and your friends like to shop? The Mill Falls Marketplace is located in the heart of Meredith in a handsome, renovated mill building. Featuring eleven locally owned shops, brick walkways, flower gardens, a 40-foot waterfall, and views of Lake Winnipesaukee, the Marketplace offers a unique, year-round shopping experience!

Indulge at Cascade Spa – Take time out for a little nurturing at this world-class spa and salon, tucked away in Church Landing on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. Cascade Spa offers a variety of facials, massage, body treatments, manicures & pedicures, a steam room, indoor-outdoor pool, and a relaxation lounge with beverage bar. Relax, renew, and rejuvenate!

Paddle around the Bay – Stop by EKAL Activity Center and rent a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard for a true lake adventure with your friends! There is nothing like floating on the quiet waters of Meredith Bay to instill a sense of connectedness with the natural world and those you love! Plus, it’s just plain fun! EKAL also offers aqua-cycles, boat rides, and chartered boat cruises on their pontoon boat. Sunset cruise, anyone?

Taste Local Flavors – Stop by Hermit Woods Winery on Main Street, just around the corner from the Marketplace, for a fun and informative wine tasting and tour. Hermit Woods produces award-winning, handcrafted wines made from a unique combination of traditional grapes and locally sourced fruit, honey, and flowers. The winemakers and staff are on hand to talk about the various wines while you sip. In addition to the tasting glass that you keep, take home a few bottles for later!

Take a Scenic Drive – For a great day trip with the gals, hop in the car, turn on some tunes, and follow the scenic routes around Lake Winnipesaukee. In addition to seeing some breathtaking views of the Lake, you’ll pass through farmland, woods, and little villages, each with a character of its own. The town of Wolfeboro is a great place to stop for lunch overlooking the Lake and an afternoon of exploring shops, galleries, and cafes. The M/S Mount Washington makes a dramatic entrance at its port here, too!

The best womens’ trips always bring you and your friends closer together, and with a getaway to Lake Winnipesaukee, there is something for everyone and many ways to bond! What are some of your favorite things to with the girls at the Lake?
