Music in the Mill Falls Marketplace – Friday, September 4th, 5:30 to 8:30 pm – Stroll through the shops of the Mill Falls Marketplace or just relax outdoors while enjoying a summer’s night serenade. There will be live music in the courtyard of this beautiful and historic market that was once an old linen mill. Los Lobos at The Flying Monkey Performance Center – Friday, September 4th at 7:30pm – Los Lobos has notched a number one single, won three Grammys, and sold millions of records. They’ve shared the stage with acts as varied as Dylan, The Clash, and U2. Due in no small part to the fact that the original five members have stuck together making music for over 30 years, they’ve received tremendous critical acclaim and an extremely loyal fan base. 26th Annual Labor Day Weekend Craft Fair at the Bay – Saturday, September 5th Sunday, September 6th, and Monday, September 7th, 10am – The 26th Annual Labor Day Weekend “Craft Fair at the Bay” will be held at the Alton Bay Community House and along the waterfront, Route 11, in Alton NH all next weekend. Over 75 juried craftspeople from all over New England will display and sell their American-made works, including pottery, fine jewelry, sculpture, primitive and folk art, photography, wood carvings, fleece, knits, metal art, blown glass, handmade soap, gourmet specialty foods, and so much more! Labor Day Lobsterfest aboard the M/S Mount Washington – Some would say a New England summer is not complete without a lobster dinner! Garden Series – Discovering Habitats for Songbirds – Looking for something a little quieter for the weekend? Tarbin Gardens in Franklin, NH is offering self-guided tours with an emphasis on environments that attract songbirds. The staff provides a map, and featured areas are flagged throughout the gardens and all plants are labeled. The staff will be available to answer any questions. Bring a picnic lunch or treat yourself to an authentic English Cream Tea served in the Rose Garden Patio, which is open 1pm – 5pm. The gardens are open from 10am – 6pm daily. Labor Day Weekend Fireworks at Weirs Beach – Sunday, September 6th at 10:00pm – Watch the Last Blast of Summer, a spectacular show of fireworks over Lake Winnipesaukee at Weirs Beach. Watch from the north end of the beach, from the public docks, or from the boardwalk. As the fireworks reflect onto the lake below, a flotilla of boats will light up the lake with colorful navigation lights. or 603-366-4770.
