Enjoy a Memorable Lake Winnipesaukee Vacation
One-sixteenth of New Hampshire is covered by water, much of it in the Lakes Region with 273 lakes and ponds. There's plenty of opportunities for on-water fun in every season. The largest lake in the state is Lake Winnipesaukee (72 square miles) with more than 170 miles of shoreline and 274 habitable islands.
Other notable lakes to our area include Squam Lake, where On Golden Pond was filmed, as well as Lake Winnisquam, Newfound Lake and Ossipee Lake. The smallest is Duncan Lake (114 acres), once a favorite fishing spot of Grover Cleveland, a summer resident.
Explore the shoreline, miles of hiking trails, unique shopping, unforgettable food, quaint towns and a hotel atmosphere that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life.
